"There were 36 teams in this division in Paris. Several of the more well-known teams in the Division failed to make the cut with Squall, Birmingham Phoenix and Camp Carnage well off the pace. At the other end of the spectrum, Bullets topped the division with 8 straight wins, closely followed by Blackout wirh 7 wins and draw and the Chilli Peppers and Enemy who each had 7 wins apiece. All of the usual suspects performed sufficiently well to ensure that they made the final 16, with Kellys, Solid, DG Icon, Scalp and Maharajas all guaranteed to play a third day of competitive paintball. You have to feel sorry for Pac Ultimate (FRA) who despite tying in 16th place at the end of the prelims with Allstars (GER) did not make the final 16.
Win all three of your games on the Sunday morning and you are quaranteed to be playing in the final four come Sunday afternoon and that exactly what DG Icon, South Coast Steelers, Chilli Peppers and Dow Bdx did in their respective groups to leave the others teams licking their wounds and dreaming of what could, and maybe should have been. It is no mean feat getting to the final four especially when teams of the caliver of Enemy, Blackout, Daltons, Scalp and Kellys all failed to make the last cut.
With all of the semi-final games being played on the Tomahawk field, the Chilli Peppers put on an impressive display beating DG ICon (Divisional leaders overall) in two straight games to see them repeat their finals appearance from Bitburg. Although they have a couple of guest players from Grad playing for them all year, the core of the squad is from Latvia and they are intent on giving themselves the best opportunity of CPL qualification with consistent performance all year long.
In the second semi final the South Coast Stealers took the first game beating Dow Bdx with two players alive at the end of the game. Dow returned the favor in the second game forcing a third and final decider to see who would meet the Chilli Peppers in the final. With neither team having made the final four so far this year, Dow were determined not to let this opportunity escape and won the deciding game with four bodies alive to leave the Stealers to fight for third place with DG Icon. Icon showed why they are currently leading the series and won the first and third game in the playoff to take sird place, leaving the Stealers with their best result of the year so far finishing fourth. In the final showdown the Chilli Peppers came out strong on the CPL fiels against Dow Bdx beating them in two straight games with multiple bodie alive in each game to take the title away from the Swedes."
